Star trails above Ramsey Island, Pembrokeshire, Wales
This image shows the natural movement of the stars over two hours, above Ramsey Island.
The modern English name 'Ramsey' is Norse in origin, as are the names of all the Pembrokeshire islands. Ramsey derives from the original Viking name 'Hrafens ey' which is believed to mean 'Ravens Island'. Today, there are still Ravens breeding on the island.
